in music love is so common a subject
while in visual art, it isn’t
as if those who make things visual
detach from their emotions more than those who sing
In 1.4 a voice speaks and sings of photography. Doubts segue into songs and back again. The voice is accompanied by a dark screen, occasionally interrupted by photographs and scribbled words - projected, luminous. Together, voice, words and photographs shape a work about the camera and the person behind it. While we are presented with photographs of nature, the narrator contemplates sensitivity to light, the consequences of the act of photographing and the limits of visibility. Moving between the personal and the critical, the voice dips in and out of song, using music as a mode of suturing.
