Beauty, lightness and simplicity on one hand, a sense of something sinister, self-destructive and dangerous on the other hand. For me this combination is found both in this photo from the Silueta series by Ana Mendieta and in the song Landfill by Daughter. You admire the abundance of flowers in the sunlight, the clear voice. But then you realize how these flowers cover somebody, and how the voice begs you to push her, throw her, leave her.
