One can be so different from oneself and yet so similar to another.

When looking at a portrait we instinctively draw conclusions about the person in the photograph.

We assume we understand who this person is and what he or she is like.

In Dissimilitude I question these assumptions and use them.

Dissimilitude was my graduation work; the work with which I finished my studies in photography at the HKU (Utrecht School of the Arts). It is the first project grown from a long-lasting fascination about what you think you can see about the inside, from the outside - especially in a photograph.
